About Anne
I came to Pilates relatively late in life, having previously practised yoga (Ashtanga and Yin), when life events during and in the aftermath of the pandemic led me to look for a more restorative form of mind-body exercise that still gave me a sufficient level of challenge. In the early part of 2022, I discovered Pilates, and became an immediate convert!
Not long after, I decided it was time for me to move on from the professional / corporate world in which I’d worked for the past 30+ years, and do something which more closely aligned with my longstanding interest in health and wellbeing, longevity, and the importance of staying active in mind and body as we age.
I decided to retrain as a Pilates teacher with Body Control Pilates (‘BCP’), a world-leading education provider for Pilates teaching. After a year of extensive training, I obtained my Matwork certification in November 2023 and set up my business in December 2023.
Additional training courses attended:
Matwork Evolution (BCP) - March 2024
Pilates for Bone Health (BCP) - April 2024
Pilates with the Small Ball & Toning Circle (BCP) - May 2024
I currently teach Pilates classes in Bradford-on-Avon and in Rode, and 1:1 sessions from my home in Broughton Gifford. I particularly enjoy working with clients on a 1:1 basis and teaching people in mid-later life - especially those who are new to Pilates.
I’m committed to continuing my professional development as a Pilates teacher through undertaking further training on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
Level 3 Matwork (BCP) - November 2023
Level 3 Designing Pilates Programmes for Bone Health (BCP) - September 2024
Client testimonials
‘We had never done Pilates before and we are so delighted to have found Anne’s class. She has introduced us to Pilates in a very structured and gradual way and we really feel the benefit. Anne is very patient and explains and demonstrates all the exercises really clearly and then monitors us to make sure that we have picked them up correctly. We have found the exercises very beneficial for increasing our body flexibility and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Anne’s class to people of any age.’ Tim and Vicente
